Happy Halloween!

This was Emma's first "real" Halloween in which she understood what it was all about and it was SO MUCH FUN!!! She dressed up as Abby Cadabby and was mighty cute (although I am not biased at all!) We went trick or treating with a big group of neighbors and all of Emma's friends. She was not shy at all and said "trick or treat" at every door. She gathered a ton of loot (mom and dad have only stolen a couple goodies so far:). There was one house that had scary music and smoke and a boy jumped out and scared the kids with a scream mask and outfit on. Emma cried a bit and made me hold her. She kept saying "Ghost scared me momma!" Today (the day after Halloween) she keeps asking where the ghost went and talking about how it scared her. She also keeps asking for candy. I told her she could have one piece with every meal if she eats good. Needless to say she keeps running to her booster chair asking to eat so he can get a piece of candy! Anna dressed as a pumpkin and was happy rolling around in the stroller.

Emma also had a fall field day at school filled with lots of games and fun. Pictures are below. I also posted pictures of the Halloween party that our neighbors had this past weekend. Enjoy!

Can you tell that she is excited?

We tried to get a picture of Anna in the pumpkin. We have a cute picture of Emma in the pumpkin as a baby, but Anna was NOT having it!

Emma carving the pumpkin. Good thing I got this shot because right after she held her hands up and said EWWW and demanded to be cleaned right up. That's my little neat freak!

Jay and his buddies learning the "Thriller" dance at the party. Our neighbor is the local high school dance team instructor and she wanted to teach the boys. It was hilarious. To see it live follow this link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKShWPx_SsA

Fall Festivals and Hot Weather

Wow...it has been a long time since my last post! As I thought I might, I am having difficulty finding the time to update the blog. We have been busy enjoying the local fall festivals, playing outside with our neighbors every night, and cheering for our Michigan State Spartans football team who are now 8-0!! We are desperately praying for cooler weather though, as it has been high 80's and even 90's the past couple weeks. It has been near record heat everyday. We do have hopes of a cool front later this week (high 70's) :)

Anna has been continuing to grow and change a ton! We had her 8 week check up this past week. She is now 10lb 7oz and 21.5 inches. She is doing well health wise aside from the terrible reflux that she has. She gets very fussy after every meal and cries in pain as she spits up. She also spits up a TON and it is sometimes projectile. The doctor agreed that she has bad reflux and we have started a medicine to help it. We are supposed to give it a week and if there aren't any changes she will go to the more stronger Prevacid. So far we haven't noticed any improvements. Aside from her reflux she is much more aware of her surroundings now. She is awake and alert most of the day with cat naps here and there. She is also smiling, which I LOVE. The other day she was in her swing looking up at Emma and smiling at her...it made my heart melt!!

Emma is doing really good still with Anna, and continues to adore her. She always asks where she is if she is in another room. She wants to hold her, burp her, give her the pacifier, and help in any way possible. Lately we have been calling her the "bag lady." She loves to fill up all of her bags and purses with her toys and carry them all over the house. She will say "Going to Avery's house, be back soon, okay." Then she takes all of her bags and puts them by the front door as if she is leaving.

A couple weeks ago my friend Jamie and I took the kids to a local place called Dewberry Farms. They have a petting zoo, hay ride, tractor ride, pumpkin patch, inflatable jump things, and tons of more activities for the kids. It was extremely hot outside that day, but Emma had a great time with her friend Avery, and the younger kids (Anna and Brady) also managed to stay happy. It was a fun time! This past weekend we went with some of our neighborhood friends to the local high school fall festival. We went on a hay ride, picked out pumpkins, got a face painting and went in the jump house. Emma had a great time with her friends!

We are getting ready for Halloween and excited for all of the festivities our neighborhood has planned for next weekend. Emma is going to be Abby Cadabby and she is very excited. I was teaching her to say "trick or treat" this week and she kept saying "Krispie treat!" It was adorable, but I think she now has it down. I can't wait to see if she will actually say it next weekend when people open their door or if she will be too shy.

Enjoy the pics!
Sweet, sleeping Anna
